Apple Releases a New, Affordable iPad

The new RED Special Edition iPhone lineup will be available in 128GB and 256GB variants.

A few days ago, Apple drummed up some excitement for a big announcement and delivered on that with a new red color option.

Apple has given iPhone SE a massive price cut and a number of retailers across the country have begun to offer iPhone SE at Rs 19,999 while the 64GB model now sells for Rs 25,999.

The palette of colors that iPhones come in is increasing this week, as Apple releases a red special edition of iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus.

"The introduction of this special edition iPhone in a gorgeous red finish is our biggest (PRODUCT) RED offering to date in celebration of our partnership with (RED), and we can't wait to get it into customers' hands", said Apple CEO Tim Cook.

Apple also announced a new app for creating videos and sharing them with friends on its iOS devices.

The announcement came as a shock to industry experts, who were expecting the rumoured new iPhone 7 to launch at Apple's annual Spring event.

You might be familiar with PRODUCT (RED) - an initiative through which companies create red versions of their products, which they donate a portion of the profits to raising awareness of and fighting AIDS in Africa. To bring the world on step closer to the AIDS free generation it is a praiseworthy initiative. The base 32GB Wi-Fi model starts at $329 ($70 cheaper than the Air 2) while the 32GB Wi-Fi and Cellular model goes for $459. The 12.9-inch iPad Pro and the 10.5-inch iPad Pro models will be powered by the AX10 chipset.
