Jokes aside, Devine dished that he is "so excited" to take on the honor of hosting this year because he has been a longtime fan of the MTV Movie Awards.

Adam DeVine is set to host the event, which will air live from L.A.'s Shrine Auditorium on May 7.

The Workaholics star and co-creator recently wrapped his Comedy Central series after seven seasons. "Will Smith might have something to say about that but they didn't ask him [to host], they asked me". But he has a burgeoning film career as well, with roles in the Pitch Perfect films and starring opposite Zac Efron in last year's Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates.

Also new this year, on the day of the show, MTV will hold its first Movie and Television Festival outside of the venue, with live musical acts, special guests and food.
